One of the benefits to relocating our wedding and portrait photography studio to Bolton MA is incredibly beautiful locations for outdoor portrait sessions, like this one in Lancaster, just minutes from our door.
I'm completely gaga for this sweet family of four, and was thrilled when mom contacted me to schedule a session, in celebration of their ten year anniversary. What a beautiful, lasting way to celebrate this incredible year and their beautiful family.
This year has been our busiest yet, with more families coming to see us for portraits that they can enjoy in their homes. I have so much more to share from this session, but here's one of my recent favorites, with this adorable little family.
A HUGE thank you to Bolton Spring Orchards for allowing us to use their beautiful property for our session!
Lately I've been overwhelmed with gratitude for the life we live. A friend called it "Life by Design." I started my photography business to pursue my passion. I revel in the way a single picture can express so much love, so much happiness. And how it becomes an invaluable treasure.
But today I'm so completely grateful for the benefits it has brought to our family. That I get to work with my husband, my best friend, every day. I get to see him more than anyone else in the world and for that I'm so thankful. That I've been able to chaperone nearly all of Trevor's field trips. That this is a work day:
That I can bring my little Cooper to work with me, scouting a new location and we can make a fun day out of it. (Oceanview of Nahant, by the way - incredible. Check it out. The GM Matt is awesome...Cooper would agree as he left with pockets full of caramels.)
Living with intention. I scheduled time for the venue visit, playtime at the beach, first look/portrait plan development, and lunch in Salem. Business and fun together. All with my favorite three year old.
Its these moments that overwhelm me. As he looks at me, waiting for me to kick off my shoes and join him. I couldn't move fast enough. We hunted for shells and dipped our toes in the freezing water until we couldn't take it anymore and ran back to the warm sand.
We can't ever get these moments back.
I'm grateful that I'm skilled at taking pictures of these moments, and that I will print and hang them on my wall and include them in an album. Because I know these moments are so fleeting. Next year he probably won't hold my hand. A few years down the road he may not even want to come to the beach with mom.
But for today, I have this moment. And for tomorrow, I will have the pictures to remember.

Bria just turned one! We're starting to feel like this little love & her parents are a part of our family. We photographed her newborn portraits, her aunt & uncle's wedding, and now her one year birthday celebration portraits. Her and her sweet parents headed to our new studio in Bolton for her one year portraits and a cake smash. She was so dainty about it, I love it. Here are some of my favorites from our session together.
She's a great sharer...
These are some of my alltime favorite family in-studio portraits. The love and connection in these portraits is what I strive to capture at each and every session. So happy we created these together, to hang on their walls as a beautiful part of their family story.
If you've ever considered planning a portrait session for your extended family - grandparents, cousins, siblings, grandkids - do it. It is an incredible gift, one that will capture the magic of not just your immediate family, but also the other people most important in your lives. We planned this beautiful extended family session at their farm in Ashburnham. The familiar place that means so much to everyone here - the place where this family started, and where the grandchildren come back to. Home.
One of my favorite sessions. Meet an incredible family.
Ok. Let's chat about this handsome little one year old for a minute. This is Charlie. Ben and I photographed his mom and dad's wedding a couple of years ago. And then we photographed his newborn pictures just a week after he was born. And its crazy how quickly the first year went by. He's grown so much, and I loved photographing his first birthday session. We started outdoors, and his mom had the cutest little outfit for him, which went perfectly against the last of the orange fall foliage. We headed into the studio for some cake afterwards, and he never lost this charming little smile. Just try to tell me you're not totally in love with him after looking through his portraits. Charming Charlie!
Last year I photographed a sweet newborn baby boy named Camden at our old studio in Westminster MA. You can see that session here. He slept the entire time and made my job easy as pie. I was beyond thrilled when his mama called to schedule his first birthday session with cake smash at our new studio in Bolton MA. One year portrait sessions are my favorite - its fun to see their little personalities emerging. And its hilarious to see their reaction to CAKE. Camden might actually take the cake for the best reaction...here's a peek into a session with one of my favorite little guys.
Thanks to the mild winter we had, we were able to have portraits outside in December!
Best cake smash ever, buddy.
